on with the movement.

update. Well, where to begin?

name change. I know many of you were wondering how “Studio 1:6b” came about, but that’s for another time. Reason being, we are changing our name. Turns out there is a Studio16B based in the UK and we had to make sure that our cliental would not be confused if searching us on the web. With that said, we decided to change our name. I wdon’t want to ay what it is now until we brand it LLC and have everything set in stone, but we will keep you up-to-date.

studio space. We have officially moved in! Yup, we are currently located at the Zhou B Art Center. located at 1029 W 35th St, Chicago, IL. Our studio is in the basement on the northwest corner of the building. You are more than welcome to come by. Currently we are cleaning it out and creating a comfortable space for us to live and work in. At the latest, our studio will be finished by next Friday, April 9th and open for tours. Look out for a launch party =)

big happenings. Man are things are moving fast. Currently, we are working on proposals for Nike, New York Life and B96 to name a few. Be on the lookout for updates and some really dope pieces. Our main project right now is with an artists, genius rather, named Christophe Roberts. Not only is this man talented, but he has a huge heart. This now brings me into what all of you have been waiting for, the video of the week.

Nike-box-lion-creation. Now the reason I didn’t have this out earlier is because I didn’t know if we could make it public or not. Also, it’s not a polished video. But after getting the OK and realizing that maybe it would be cool for my faithful followers to see the different drafts of a piece, I decided to throw this up. Also, It’ll give you all a better picture of what we’ve been up to.

This time lapse will be part of a short documentary on Christophe. Again, time lapses by nature are cool to watch, but we added a little flair to this one. Instead of the traditional one camera, one angle set-up, we used a 3 camera, multiple angle workflow. ANd remember, be gracious, it’s a first draft. Enjoy!

Sorry all, as per request y my client, I had to remove the video for the time being. Be back tonight with something fresh =)

the skinny. Shot on a Canon 7D. Edited on 27″ iMac Quad Core w/ Final Cut Studio.

watch it twice.

update. again, i’m off with my updates. gwahhhh. things are going nuts around here. unfortunately I can’t go into detail about exactly what’s happening, until it happens. But, expect BIG things.

contest. Currently, we are going under another brand change. It will be something to the effect of “2521″. If you can figure out what it means and where it comes from, we’ll cook you and a friend a steak dinner. Just leave us a comment and you may be the lucky winner =P.

supporters. On a sidenote, if you have been following and supporting us from the beginning, please let it be known. RT (retweet) or comment as you see fit. There will be exclusive contests/parties offered to those who have been he backbone of what we do. Like I said, BIG things are happening and we want you to be a part of it.

pv commercial. Finally, here is our latest piece. We released this at the Potential Villain 1 year Anniversary party, so thank you for all those who attended and supported. We haven’t titled this piece yet but I do encourage you to watch it twice. There is a powerful message in it and a lot to be said. There will be a director’s cut in the future explaining why we created it the way we did.

cheers.

a vBlog: introducing studio1:6b.

update. I know, I know–I’m late with my updates.  I really have no excuses, but I hope this vBlog sums up why and what is going on.

week 5.

update. so I just found out that I’ve got a couple of weekly followers–and I just want to say a BIG THANK YOU, because you all are the reason I keep at it. Unfortunately, I do not have this week’s video finished yet because I’ve been focused on business things: primarily creating a website. Unfortunately, when you don’t have the money to out source work, you do it all by yourself. I will have it done by the end of the week–even if it kills me.

studio1:6b. Pronounced “stoo-dee-ohh-won-siks-bee” is going to be the brand of pour cinematography business. we are doing a lot of work creating websites, writing up contracts, networking, accounting, buying/selling–you name it. the details are soon to follow.

final thoughts. Please, please forgive me because I don’t have the video ready, but come back tomorrow and watch it then. goodnight everyone.

a kid and his dream, trailer. Because I owe you all, here’s behind the scenes of what Jason and I shot.

this one’s for my sneakerheads.

update. whew. finally had a second to breathe–and a day too late! Apologies to my faithful subscribers, all 5 of you that I know of: Angelica, Margaux, Gephine, Gino and Mr. Costes. But, here is this week’s video.

akin x nike. Pan, co-owner of Akin Chicago was asked to throw the All-star shoe release with 2 day’s notice. Hustlin as he does, he put it together and asked me to tape it that Friday night.

Right before I arrived at Akin, he asked me to put together an edit for the Magic convention in Las Vegas taking place that Sunday. Wow–that meant I had one day to shoot and only another to edit. Excited and scared, Pan encouraged me to take it or leave and said that if I took it, to make no excuses if I failed And here it is, the 2 day shoot & edit: Akin x Nike, All-Star release.

Next week. 5 of 52: A Kid and His dream, a video blog by Justin Capadocia.

wow, 3rd post already?!

update. Can you believe it? I can’t. In 3 short weeks I’ve been “hustlin” hard (and picked up some street slang ;P) and produced 3 videos! In addition, there’s so much going on. Again, I’m a cinematographer, not a writer, so expect a vBlog mid week–just know there are big things in the making.

caleb manguba. As promised, here’s the ever-so adorable, Caleb Manguba.

Next week: AKIN x Nike – ALLSTAR release party.

week 2.

Wow, this week has gone by too fast.

Updates.  I’ve been officially “sworn-in” to the Arts & Media Director for my church, we had our leader’s retreat all-day Saturday.  I have big plans for our future.

Potential Villain and I have booked our plane tickets to California the weekend of April 9th.  If you haven’t heard, we’re going to be promoting the brand in the west and I will be documenting all of it–guaranteed good times.

For all of you who don’t know, this video enthusiasm of mine is actually what I plan to go full-time with.  WIth that said, I’ve started a wedding business (www.thejostudio.com); partnered with Mike from Unscene Media (www.unscenemedia.com); and am starting to brand my own name “Jcap Studio” alongside my brother, James Capadocia (soon to be: www.jcapstudio.com or something to that extent).

Stayed up all last night working on a baby dedication video for one of my old friends, Jason Manguba.  More on this and video next week.

//

Suggey and Christina.  Well, here’s what most my 20 or less viewers have probably been waiting for, video #2 of 52: Suggey and Christina’s wedding.  And if anyone has any questions about booking, reach me at 8472243352 or justin.capadocia@me.com.  Cheers.

Suggey is probably one of the most creative and funny people I have ever met.  And yes, that is a well established claim, because in my books that puts him up with, ahem, Christopher J Sotelo.  Not only that, but after getting to know him, I discovered a committed and generous heart for Christina.

Christina, as you’ll see, alway has a smile on her face.  The short conversations and interactions I witnessed between her friends and family confirmed the kind heart and loving side of her that everyone was talking about.

Now if that was all I could say about them, that would be enough.  But the one thing that I was blessed by the most, was their desire to love and know God together.  They both aspire to continually grow in Christ, sharpening one another and those around them.  It was truly an honor and a blessing.  To Suggey and Christina, thanks for the experience.  Enjoy!

Final thoughts. Life is wild and will pull you in a million and one directions: do what you will with it, just make sure you love what you do.
